Around this knight, a host of similar phantoms materialized instantly; the lifelike sheen of his armor consequently dimmed significantly.
Ahead, the Sonic Knight dispersed a cluster of knightly phantoms whose forms were strikingly similar, and the realistic hue of his own armor also faded considerably as a result.
[The –Unnamed Guardian of Secbird- has taken control of the third squad of soldiers.]
From within the Financing Moxel, Robin Lo’s voice rang out:
{It’s stalling for time to refine the wavebands of the dead into these puppets! Hurry to the true Defier!}
In Yang Zicang’s Financing Moxel, upon hearing Robin Lo’s voice, the crowd erupted in clamor—this Defier was truly cunning.
Moon Angel charged forward swiftly. Yang Zicang kicked off the ground, his figure darting out. A silver-white long spear shot out from Grav-Arc with a whoosh, glowing with orange light as it slammed into the Black Armored Knight.
–Hah!-
The Black Armored Knight thrust his greatsword’s energy wave upward, –My Lord, aid me!-
Whrrr~!
Inside the deep and dark hall, the eye’s formidable energy radiated outward. On the mottled stone walls, the gleam of magic crystals twisted within the surging force.
Grav-Arc flashed; the silver spear tip, glinting with orange light, stabbed out. Spear shadows ran rampant, each strike carrying the overwhelming momentum of crashing mountains and raging tides.
The energy man swung his great sword upward with force; the blade and spear clashed, erupting with a dull, buzzing thud like an invisible heavy hammer that suppressed the sound waves and churned the air.
–Zicang, go now! Leave this place to me!-
Zhao Xuemei gripped her long sword, icy wisps swirling around her, and resolutely charged toward the dozens of armored knights.
–Just one person?- the black-armored knight sneered, energy surging through his body as if it could shake the entire hall. –And you think you can stand against our army?!-
Boom!
Yang Zicang hurled the flying carpet at them, instantly knocking down and even scattering many black-armored warriors conjured by dissonant thoughts.
Three eyeballs screeched sharply—-Crackle!-
The scattered warriors re-formed once again.
–As expected, they’re tougher than before.-
Facing the renewed assault of the black-armored knight legion, Zhao Xuemei raised her sword with delicate fingers. A chill spread rapidly, freezing the hall floor around her into a layer of frost.
The ice element slashed through the black-armored soldiers pushing forward.
The red-clad Moxel man braved the freezing wind around Zhao Xuemei and approached; beside her, he opened a hemispherical red force field to block the same-frequency sound waves.
–You all go! We’ll hold them off!- the man said with difficulty to Cheng Yunze and the others.
Cheng Yunze led the Moon Angel and dashed quickly toward another path at the rear of the hall.
[–Secbird’s Nameless Guardian- has taken control of the fourth military squad.]
Just after running a few steps, Cheng Yunze and the others saw two more similar warriors approaching, supported by the floating eye speakers overhead.
Seeing that Yang Zicang had already entered the rear on his flying carpet, Zhang Quantou and the others said, –Captain, you go first. We’ll hold them off.-
–Okay.-
Cheng Yunze, encased in the Skeleton of Light, moved swiftly, darting through the chaotic shadows ahead as he rushed into the depths of the wide, seemingly endless passage.
–So many…-
–So many!-
–These are all… the last silhouettes of people and monsters who died in the Demon Hall!-
Boom! Boom!
A gentle breeze wafted from ahead. As Cheng Yunze arrived, he saw Yang Zicang blasting a huge sound-wave monster into chaotic energy—it was a military unit that was about to be successfully bred!
The eye-speaker that had floated above the monster’s head also rose like a phantom toward the dark ceiling of the passage. The two looked up to see clusters of three or five like inverted black spider eggs, scattered here and there on the uneven high ground.
Another towering monster emerged from the dark depths.
–Ignore them!- Cheng Yunze shouted. –These things are just consumables meant to waste our time!-
–Damned things!– Yang Zicang gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, glaring at the eyeballs before leaping onto the giant carpet and sliding deep into the passage.
Amid the dense, undulating phantoms below, a golden figure sprinted, following the rush of the carpet.
A colossal wall loomed at the end, flanked by roads wide enough for trucks to pass.
The stone hall’s walls bore faint relief carvings, while the dome was irregular rock, like a cave’s ceiling. Beyond this dividing wall lay a more spacious rear chamber.
Yang Zicang on the flying carpet and Cheng Yunze, wrapped in a golden skeleton, rounded the wall.
[I have arrived at the Hall of the Demon Throat.]
The silhouette of a vast palace emerged ahead, like a uvula dangling behind a gullet. The five-colored radiance of magic crystals on the walls rendered it breathtakingly magnificent.
Beneath the –small tongue– hanging like a droplet of water, on a throne shaped like a giant blood-red eye set in the sloping wall, sat a tall, blood-red figure—the Nameless Defender.
He scraped his sharp fingers across his purple-red lips, marked with vertical lines, and smiled as he watched Cheng Yunze charge through the wall toward him.
{You truly came, but indeed, only the two of you have made it this far.}
–Hmph, the two of us are enough.–
The golden skeleton beside Cheng Yunze flashed and darted toward the slender demon.
In front of the Defender, four eyeball trumpets descended instantly from the energy. Amidst the vibration, two figures, a man and a woman, appeared before the Defender, radiating densely packed energy silhouettes outward.
The Defender lifted his chin slightly and said with a smile:
{Relying on that thing beside you? Heh, do you even know what that is?}
Cheng Yunze narrowed his eyes, staring at the demon.
The Moon Angel, constructed of light, was blocked by this army of sound waves, whose forms were the most solid. No matter how fast its attacks, it couldn’t cut a path to reach the Defender.
With the flapping sound of the flying carpet, Yang Zicang appeared high above Cheng Yunze. He looked down, and the Defender smiled back at him.
The figure on the Giant Eye throne gradually manifested the aura unique to a Bloodline Ring.
Yang Zicang took a deep breath. From his initial helplessness against the Defender to now being able to try… merely half a year.
{Don’t you really want to know the stories of those hypocrites in this world?}
From the first, an ordinary woman, to the second, a black-armored knight, to the present third and fourth armies, their energy weapons look more and more powerful, and their equipment increasingly refined and hefty.
According to the hints obtained earlier, if I’m not mistaken, there should be seven such armies that can exist simultaneously.
–Go, we cannot let it create all the armies.-
Moon Angel recoiled, deflecting several attacks for Cheng Yunze. Then, the chief captain of the 23rd City clenched the ability sphere in his palm and vaulted into the air. The golden skeleton on his body hurtled diagonally downward like a cannonball, crashing straight into the Defender itself!
Bearing the Xu Zero Chronos war device, it instantly materialized before the slender figure.
Clang! A force field appeared in front of the sword tip!
Around them, a phalanx formed from the tall woman’s energy body swiftly raised their musket-like energy weapons, chambered rounds, and unleashed a dense hail of energy bullets.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Before the hundred-meter-wide hall, countless exploding force-field ripples bloomed into existence.
The Moon Angel’s luminous skeletal body burst into countless shimmering fragments under the relentless barrage.
Boom! A shot carrying an orange glow slammed into the broad force field, which finally shattered with a crash.
The golden skeleton’s broken arm retracted swiftly and thrust out another stab.
The Defender smiled, allowing the blade to pierce through.
Ba-room!
The very moment the sword tip penetrated its body, the eyeball loudspeaker let out a piercing shriek.
[–Sekbode’s Nameless Guardian– has taken control of the fifth military squad.]
–So fast!–
Rumble! Amid the dust, the golden skeleton was blasted away by a tremendous force, carving a chasm seventy or eighty meters across before crashing into the wall.
The army raised their guns and aimed, as several howling gales shot toward the two.
[Grid Expansion, Thousand!]
[Deploy!]
Yang Zicang leaped off the giant carpet, which rapidly stood upright and spun, shielding himself and Cheng Yunze as a barrage of dense thuds erupted.
{You are all the cream of the crop—become my generals. This is a new choice.}
The crimson Defender in formal attire, shattered by the Moon Angel’s earlier sword strike, exploded into a dozen energy humanoids that spread out like a frenzy of demons, charging toward the ground and the heights above.
The fifth branch squad was a copy of itself!
Moments ago, several Defender clones attacked together, sending the Moon Angel flying like a broken ragdoll.
Now, three energy-form Defenders merged, giving rise to a crimson figure almost indistinguishable from a physical human, except for the smoke emanating from its surface.
It passed through the giant carpet and reached out to grab Cheng Yunze’s throat.
{Become my general, and rule two great domains alongside me!}
Yang Zicang glanced sideways from the corner of his eye.
Cheng Yunze answered the Defender with action. His telekinetic body took a step back from his physical form, and with a light tap of his finger, he instantly stored his body into a concealed space.
–Ugh…-
The waves of death rolled.
Even the spiritual world erupted with a terrifying momentum, like a bomb detonating, sending deep tremors through the great hall as dust and debris rained down.
Amid Moxel’s financing, a chorus of exclamations arose:
{Zi Cang, are you okay?}
{I’m afraid that’s not something two people can handle. Hasn’t anyone gone in yet?}
{Too bad there’s no sky in there; otherwise, Fang Tian’s move would have been much easier.}
[My investors are doubting whether we can earn more Chronos.]
Yang Zicang chose to have Moxel block out these distracting voices. The giant blanket spun wildly in his hands, kicking up gusts of wind that swept away the dense mass of energy humanoids nearby.
But after all, this thing couldn’t be infused with amplified Chronos, so its capabilities as a weapon were limited—merely a sturdy shield.
–Cheng Yunze!-
{I… I’m fine…}
The light of the Moon Angel flickered through the smoke and dust, which slightly reassured Yang Zicang.
Before Cheng Yunze could finish speaking, several energy humanoids armed with longswords and muskets burst out of the dust cloud around Yang Zicang, firing rounds at him head-on.
Slender nails appeared out of nowhere as a red shadow came rushing toward him—this time, the target was Yang Zicang!
[Deploy!]
Crushing the ability ball in his hand, Yang Zicang twisted his body and barely brushed past the defender, the path perilously narrow.
An intense pressure of energy swept past him. The ferocity it exuded felt like an out-of-control truck hurtling by with unmatched momentum. This was the energy of bloodline—it seemed to affect him physically.
–It’s the Three Rings!-
Yang Zicang dared not pause his steps, swiftly evading the figures of several other nameless resisters charging at him from all sides.
